cat with gift

Your cat may not understand what all the holiday fuss is about during this season of joy, but one tradition they will love is receiving presents. They will even enjoy the box the present comes in, especially if it has wrapping paper they can bat around and ribbons to shred.

If you do buy presents for your cat, you will be in great company. Some 72 percent of cat parents will purchase gifts for their cats, according to one study. And most lucky pets will receive more than one present, with 68 percent of pet parents planning to purchase multiple gifts for their pets, mostly toys and treats. Two out of three pet owners put up stockings for their pets.

From cozy beds to innovative toys and feline inspired art, there are plenty of gifts to choose from whether you are shopping for the cat-lover in your life or the four-legged friends themselves.

Here are a few ideas for the furry ones and those who love them:

Sleepypod beds are really three products in one: an everyday pet bed, a stylish carrier, and a safe car seat. A plush bed at home most of the time, just zip on the lid and you are ready to travel, by car or airplane. The Sleepypod mobile pet bed reduces travel-related stress because a cat can travel safely in the comfort of its own trusted bed instead of in a carrier it may associate with negative experiences, the manufacturer says. The carrier has velcro positioning points that secure a seat belt in place and has been certified by the Center for Pet Safety. Price: $169-189.
