- Pet food: According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), spending on pet food continues to increase year over year. Some pet parents are trying more premium food options, including home delivery services for freshly made pet food, such as NomNomNow and Ollie.
- Technology: Pet cameras and treat dispensers that can be operated remotely with an app allow pet parents to interact with their pet even while they are away during the day. Other pet tech includes wearable GPS and fitness trackers and automatic litter boxes that scoop themselves.
- Alternative therapies: According to the Michelson Found Animals 2019 Pet Trends study, 68% of pet parents are using alternative therapies, like CBD oil, to preventatively care for their pet’s medical or behavioral conditions.
