We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

This Halloween, check out the following sweet kitties for adoption from Pawsitive Alliance. Each cat is Washington-based, has been fully vetted, and is in desperate need of a warm, loving forever home!

Abigail is a beautiful 4-year-old brown tabby, not quite height-weight proportionate. She could stand to lose a few ounces, and Peninsula Friends of Animals has her on a diet to help do just that. She is quite a character and has a mind of her own – she knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it, and will not hesitate to make her wishes known.

Age/Gender/Size: Adult (4 years old), female, a little overweight (more to love!)
Breed: Tabby
Likes: Being outside; calm kids and dogs
Dislikes: Chaos!
Special Considerations: Currently on a diet to lose a few ounces
Notes:  She would benefit from a secured and safe outdoor space. She is a fun curious kitty that is hoping to find a calm home. She would do fine with kids/dogs that won’t fuss with her much.

Find out more about Abigail here.

Charlie is a wise 9-year-old kitty, and if you ask him, he’ll say that it’s the perfect age. He, like so many felines, can be a great companion but also enjoys his independence. Benton-Franklin Humane Society says that one minute he’s content to nap in a window, and the next, he’s energized by tossing around a few toys (he loves to play in boxes and with strings and rubber bands).

Age/Gender/Size: 9 years old; male; Medium

Breed: Manx

Likes: Napping, rubberbands, string.

Dislikes: Dull moments!

Special Considerations: Charlie is diabetic but is currently controlling his condition with a special diet.

INXS is a sweet, healthy kitty looking for a home where she can get some love! She enjoys calm companionship and is looking for her tranquil oasis. Her foster home through Motley Zoo noted that she’s quiet and shy, and that she just needs a little time to learn to trust people.

Age/Gender/Size: 1 yr old / Female / 7lbs

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Likes: INXS loves her kitty treats & getting her cheeks scratched!

Dislikes: Overwhelming situations, kittens

Special Considerations: INXS is very shy and will need some time to open up.

Find out more about INXS here.

Seattle Area Feline Rescue says that KitKat has a lot of energy and spunk! When she is nervous, she can play rough and swat, with claws. Because of this, she wouldn’t be a good fit for a home with young children. She would, however, flourish in the home of an experienced cat parent. She has a mellow and sweet side that is just waiting to come out.

Age/Gender/Size: 3 years (DOB: 12/2014); Female; Medium
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Likes: Slices of deli turkey
Dislikes: Stressful situations
Special Considerations: No children and no other pets, please.

Meet Rush, the resident cuddle bug. Rush is a gorgeous female Tabby who loves the attention and affection of humans. Her all-time favorite activities are lying on your lap or plopping down between your feet. She’s been at Pasado Safe Haven since she was a kitten, approximately 7 years ago.

Age/Gender/Size: 7 years / Female / Small
Breed: Tabby
Likes: Rush loves a good cuddle!
Dislikes: Outdoors (she loves an indoor perch though to watch “tv” – birds and passerby are her favorite)
Special Considerations:
Rush has a neurological issue and requires a special diet

Find out more about Rush here.

“Roxy is a gorgeous, mellow kitty. Nobody will give you sweeter ‘mews’ as a hello. See why we are smitten by this marvelous cat,” says Laurel, Adoption Counselor at Homeward Pet Adoption Center. “Not only does Roxy have the softest fur around, but she has big, sweet eyes, and the most endearing personality!”

Age/Gender/Size: 8 Yrs./Spayed Female/7 Lbs.
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Likes: Playing, spa days
Dislikes: Sharing you with another pet!
Special Considerations: Medications & special diet; adult only house

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
