Why Not Me? Meet Hugo

By Colleen Williams
March 14, 2018 • 2 min. read

We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

Age/Gender/Size: 2 years, male, medium
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Shepherd mix
Likes: Belly scratches and long runs on the beach; Future Instagram star
Dislikes: Being cooped up!
Special Considerations: Hugo has some anxiety from being in the shelter and may need to warm up a little at first.
Notes:  Hugo’s adoption fee is $130. This includes his neuter, microchip, deworming, and up-to-date vaccinations.

Hugo showing off his “wait” skills

Are you active? Looking for a running pal? Want to go on scenic hikes with your BFF? Well, Handsome Hugo is your boy! He’s a smart, loyal and very photogenic dog with a sweet disposition. He knows the basics like sit, stay, and waiting for the ‘ok’ before eating. Hugo would love to continue with training to further stimulate his mind.

Hugo reserves the luxury of belly scratches and cuddles to only his favorite people, so if you’re in his pack, he’s loyal and loving to the nth degree. He is so intelligent and charming, the shelter says, “he’s the full package.” Hugo currently has anxiety and isn’t quite sure how to handle unknown people/pets at this time; however, pets who find their forever home are known to open up and flourish. One thing’s for sure – this beautiful boy will give his people so much love and appreciation.

Hugo is looking for that special someone with an active, stable lifestyle and lots of love (and pup-cookies!) to give. Resident dogs and humans are required to meet Hugo prior to adoption although he would probably prefer to be the only pet in the home. If you’re interested in adopting Hugo, please contact the Whitman County Humane Society in Pullman, WA via their website or by calling (509) 332-3422. He’s been fully vetted, neutered and vaccinated. Help us to find a forever home for Hugo!
