ADOPTED! Why Not Me? Meet Snowdrop!

By Colleen Williams

Snowdrop has been adopted as of September 2018!

Discover more adoptable pets in the Healthy Paws and Pawsitive Alliance “Why Not Me?” program.

We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

Age/Gender/Size: 11 Yrs./Spayed Female/7 Lbs.
Breed: Chihuahua
Likes: Long walks, senior discounts
Dislikes: Disrespecting your elders
Special Considerations: Prefers a cat-free home. Health considerations listed below.

“Do they get much sweeter, spicier, and squishier than Miss Snowdrop?” says Emerald City Pet Rescue. We certainly don’t think so! Snowdrop is 11 years young and is fully experienced in cuddling, playing with other dogs, and napping in the sunshine. When it comes to walks, Snowdrop believes it’s important to stop and smell the flowers… each and every single one.

Snowdrop has some health concerns – she has cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), so she will need a pet parent who is vigilant about her condition and keeps her living healthily, which may include some prescription medicine at some point. She has a history of mammary cancer and will require follow-up visits every 6 months to monitor the condition. Lastly, this adorable little pup has no teeth, so while her bark is definitely worse than her bite, she’ll need a wet diet only.

So, if you’re looking for a handheld, pint-sized companion for snuggles and silliness, Miss Snowdrop is your gal! She is currently at Emerald City Pet Rescue where she’s been fully vetted and neutered. If you would like more information on Snowdrop, please call ECPR at (206) 557-4661 or visit their site.

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
