Why Not Me? Meet Sophy & Tippy!

By Colleen Williams
February 28, 2018 • 2 min. read

We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

  • Sophy: 10 yrs, spayed female, 14 lbs.
  • Tippy: 9 yrs, spayed female, 15  lbs.

Breed: Mixed Breeds: Sophy is part Chihuahua, Tippy is part Dachshund and Pug.
Likes: Tandem walks, snacks, and treats.
Dislikes: Sitting still; also, not fond of other pets or kids.
Special Considerations: Bonded Pair that must be adopted together. Confident cats in the house okay; kids must be 10+. Both pups can be vocal.
Notes:  Tippy had double cherry eye treated, however there is a possibility it could return in the future. Their shelter says they are very good on walks and like to get fresh air.

“Twice the cuteness for a very lucky someone!” says Emerald City Pet Rescue, the shelter where these two little pups are patiently waiting for their forever home. Their human fell ill and had to give them up in 2016, so they’ve been long-term residents. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Small and healthy, these senior girls are 9 and 10 years old, weighing 13 – 15 pounds. They’re approachable, affectionate, and very loving: these two will reward you with a pup party every night when you walk in the door. They’re house-trained, know basic commands, and while they definitely get silly and goofy to score treats, they also love to cuddle up on the couch for movie night too.

If you’re interested in adopting Sophy and Tippy, please contact Emerald City Pet Rescue via their website or by calling 206-557-4661. They’ve both been fully vetted, spayed and have been vaccinated. Let’s find a forever home for Sophy and Tippy!

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
