We’ve partnered with Pawsitive Alliance for the #WhyNotMePets campaign to give difficult-to-home pets an extra paw up. These lovable pets are ready to find their forever homes.

In February 2017, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance announced its partnership with Pawsitive Alliance’s “Why Not Me?” campaign with a $25,000 grant from the Healthy Paws Foundation’s Every Quote Gives Hope initiative. The #WhyNotMePets program focuses on difficult-to-home pets; from seniors and overweight to long-stay shelter residents and “restricted” breeds. These animals need exposure to help find their forever match, which Healthy Paws provides in terms of articles, social media posts and shares.

Since the partnership was announced, Healthy Paws has presented 18 pets in search of adoptive pet parents, and six pets have found homes! Executive Director Amy Ferguson stopped by the Healthy Paws headquarters, accompanied by  Chewy and Lincoln, who are both still searching for home. See our Facebook live video from their visit below:

“We still have many dogs and cats that are looking for homes, some that are having shelter anniversaries and others who have gone through different foster homes,” Amy says. So if you, a friend, or a neighbor is on the hunt for a furry best friend and in the Washington area, make sure you check out all the wonderful pets with Pawsitive Alliance’s Why Not Me? program.  You might just walk away someone’s hero.

Every Wednesday, Healthy Paws will highlight a new pet from Pawsitive Alliance’s #WhyNotMePets campaign. Visit the #WhyNotMePets page for a list of adoptable dogs and cats.
