A recent survey by Rover revealed that 37% of pet parents would skip a vacation so they could stay home with their pet. But pets are part of the family, and the travel industry is recognizing that by offering more pet-friendly hotels and destinations, which means you can enjoy a fun spring break getaway without having to leave your beloved furball behind. If you’re still working out your travel plans, we’ve pulled together a list of some of the top pet-friendly destinations in the United States for your spring break vacation.

San Diego

If the sunshine and beaches weren’t appealing enough, San Diego also offers a warm welcome to your pet with its pet-friendly patios and off-leash dog parks. According to SmartAsset’s 2018 study of dog-friendly cities, San Diego has the second-most dog-friendly restaurants and the fourth-most dog-friendly shopping centers.

Tucson

Not only is Tucson a very affordable city to visit, but SmartAsset claims there are 246 dog-friendly restaurants and 4 dog-friendly shopping centers, so it won’t be hard to find a dog-friendly stop when hunger strikes. There’s plenty to do in Tucson where your furry friend can come with. Stroll through the Tucson Botanical Gardens, visit the massive Pima Air and Space Museum, or let your dog run free off-leash at one of the many dog parks.

Miami

According to a study by RewardExpert, Miami is the third most pet-friendly travel destination and has more pet stores and veterinarians per capita than other cities, which means you can be sure this city will welcome your furry friend with open arms.

Seattle

With more pets than children within Seattle city limits, you can count on your pet having a good time in this very pet-friendly city. Dry off and grab a drink at a dog-friendly brewery or coffee shop, or stroll through the famous Pike Place Market where you and your curious pet can watch fish fly.

Key West

Austin
