  • In some parts of the world, it’s believed that owning a black cat can improve your love life.
  • Historically, British sailors believed a black cat would bring the ship good luck (in addition to hunting mice).
  • The sun can turn a cat’s black fur to a rusty color.
  • Genetic mutations responsible for black coat color also help protect cats from some diseases.
  • A black cat’s inheritance in the UK in 1988 was $12.5 million, which made him the world’s richest cat.
